We feel it’s important to understand the property, environment and surroundings before you book, to make sure it’s the right setting for your romantic getaway.

Below are some commonly asked questions to help set your expectations. Of course, if you have any additional questions, please feel free to ask.

We're here to help!

Can special dietary requirements be catered for?

With at least two weeks notice, we can usually substitute breakfast items. Subject to availability. Please email or send a message through with your reservation for confirmation.

What does self-contained mean?

As a couples retreat, our guests love their privacy.  Being a self-contained property means that we do not always have staff on the premises like a hotel. Check-in and security access details are provided to our guests at least 48 hours prior to arrival via email and sms for your convenience.

What if I need help during my stay?

Rest assured that staff are available 24/7 by phone or email for any urgent issues. Contact information is available with your arrival / access details and also in your villa. The property is monitored by CCTV cameras in public areas for your safety and security.

Can I bring my pets?

In the interests of protecting our stunning eco-system we unfortunately do not allow pets.  Being a working farm and vineyard with a multitude of beautiful birdlife, native Australian fauna and farm animals you will not feel lonely.

Can I pay for my reservation on arrival?

Full prepayment is required for all reservations, as being a self-contained premises we do not have a reception desk.

Can I request early check-in or late check-out?

Check-in is from 3.00pm and check-out is 11.00am.

Early check-in or late check-out are subject to availability and dependent on the other bookings we have.  Please contact us for any questions or requests and we will confirm in writing. If you are going on an early tour before check-in, it may be possible to leave your vehicle on the premises - please ask for instructions on where to park.

I'm arriving late in the evening. Is this ok?

Late check-ins are no problem as we provide you with all access details 48 hours prior to your stay which allows you to arrive at your leisure. You may like to grab some dinner on your way!

Absolutely! Choose from UBER, Wine Country Taxis or Taxico to get you to restaurants and local attractions. Please note that in peak times during lunch, dinner and during events these services are in high demand so please give yourself plenty of time to get to your destination. If you are heading to a concert, Rover Coaches offers a return shuttle service from our front gate to most events - bookings are essential. Please see our "Attractions" tab for details on how to book.

Why have I run out of firewood?

During the Winter months, we provide you with complimentary firewood and fire making equipment for the crisp evenings enjoyed in the Hunter Valley. If you would like your fire going for extended periods (never unattended though) additional firewood may be required and can be purchased at local petrol stations in Branxton and Cessnock. For safety reasons, we do not keep large amounts of firewood on the premises.

I've checked-in and this is the wrong property for me. What should I do?

We understand that not every property suits everyone's needs or tastes. If you do find that rural self-contained living is not for you and you prefer a hotel please contact us and we will do our best to assist you relocating where possible. Please note administration / housekeeping costs may be incurred.

Why is there horse poop on the property?

On occasion our guests may come across our resident mini ponies Cassie (little white fluff ball) and Toby (the cheeky pinto) who are allowed to free roam the property. They are very friendly, photogenic and love a pat.  Please contact us if they are a bother and we will make arrangements to pop them back into their corral.

Why is the road dirt?

The Hunter Valley is by and large a rural destination. Old North Road contains approximately 3 km of unsealed road on either side of our property. Please contact Cessnock City Council for any feedback you may have on this.
